Starting off with AAA, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys may have lost 4-3, but Tamarez had an impressive game, allowing only 1 hit and 1 run despite walking 8 batters in 4.1 innings. Dirden and Machado also hit solo and 2-run shots, respectively, to bring in some runs for the Space Cowboys. In AA, Corpus Christi Hooks won 5-4, with Melendez making his season debut and pitching really well, allowing only 1 run over 5 innings. Barber and Brewer’s RBI singles in the 6th and 7th innings helped secure the win for the Hooks.

Over in A+, although Asheville Tourists lost 7-5, Sacco delivered a grand slam in the 5th inning to give them a temporary lead. Blubaugh also put on a good show, striking out 7 over 3.2 innings while allowing only 2 runs. Lastly, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers won 2-1, with DeVos pitching a dominant 4 no-hit innings and striking out 9 batters. Espinosa’s RBI double also provided some insurance in the 7th inning.
