The Astros have made history in the 2023 season! For the first time, they have won three games in a row, and it was all thanks to an impressive offense and an excellent performance from pitcher Framber Valdez. Keep on reading to discover how the Astros beat the Braves in an exciting 11-6 game!

Valdez set the tone for the game by holding Atlanta to one run for the first five innings, with Sean Murphy being the only Brave to hit a solo home run. Valdez also managed to pitch seven strong innings, with no walks and nine strikeouts, to earn the winning decision and even his record to 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA.

The Astros’ offense didn’t come until Yordan Álvarez hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, giving his team a 2-1 lead. Kyle Tucker then did the same, hitting a massive 410-foot moonshot to make it 4-1 against Braves starter Kyle Wright. Even though the Braves made a comeback with Ozzie Albies’ two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, the Astros managed to hold on to their lead and score two more runs in the eighth and ninth innings.

In the eighth inning, Jeremy Peña got a hit, stole second base, and scored via a Corey Julks RBI single, while José Abreu recorded an RBI single of his own in the ninth inning. Bryan Abreu also played an essential role in securing the win by pitching 8 1/3 scoreless innings in his last eight appearances.
